Overview

The project Digital Shaala is a flagship program for the government schools which works to improve students' learning experience, engagement and outcomes through enabling blended teaching & learning for students from grade 6-8th, especially for girls from 10-16 years of age. It includes academic content, STEM and digital literacy content as mentioned in NEP. The Project is completely aligned with the new education policy (NEP 2020) to bring technology and innovation to public school classrooms. The initiative with support from the IIFL Foundation will impact students and teachers in schools and as an outcome of this students will be able to perform well in science and mathematics and teachers will become future ready with digital skills.

Highlight

The program implementation model follows a 5S process- Select, Setup, Shine, Stabilize and Sustain, through which the schools are first equipped with relevant set-up and technology for digital classroom, followed by training teachers for inculcating digital technology in their pedagogical approaches and conclude by ensuring support to build teachers’ capacity to operate the digital classroom set-up independently.

In the first two quarters, the Project team meticulously selected and set up the schools, ensuring the installation of devices and content.

Additionally, teachers were trained to the effective usage of these digital tools through comprehensive orientation programs. Moving into the third quarter, the focus shifted towards empowering educators through a meticulously designed Teachers Training program, covering Module 1 & 2. A commendable participation of 12 teachers marked this training, leading to a remarkable 35.14% growth in learning outcomes, as evidenced by the Pre to Post Training Assessment. The impact of the training extended beyond mere metrics, as a unanimous 100% of teachers acknowledged a discernible enhancement in their ability to seamlessly integrate digital learning methodologies into their classrooms.
