Overview

The project aims to provide raincoats to the Mumbai and Maharashtra Police Departments, ensuring police personnel can perform their duties effectively during heavy rains.

Along with implementing partners, 110 individuals from marginalized backgrounds, primarily women and youth were trained, in the manufacturing of raincoats made from recycled PVC plastic to create sustainable livelihoods through Plastic Waste Management program. This initiative not only helps reduce plastic waste but also equips these individuals with valuable skills, leading to long-term employment opportunities.

Since April 2024, beneficiaries have been trained under the guidance of a raincoat manufacturing company, with generous support from IIFL Foundation. This collaborative effort has allowed to transform lives by providing sustainable employment, promoting road safety through awareness messages on the raincoats, and contributing to environmental conservation.

This project embodies our commitment to creating a positive social and environmental impact, showcasing how community empowerment and sustainable practices can go hand in hand.
