Administrative support to Matrubhoomi school

Overview

Janupada Vaibhav Nagar locality is a big slum area of Kandivali (East), Mumbai. Almost 90% of the parents are in menial jobs. There was no school in the above area. All the big schools were crowded (1994). A primary school was set up to provide access to quality education to slum residing children.

Since 2018, the IIFL Foundation is supporting education of students studying in the primary section of the school, ensuring they do not drop out from school owing to financial constraints. Students are not charged any fees by the school.

Highlights

The project ensures that children complete Grade I to IV and successfully promote to secondary section of the school, which is aided by Government, again taking away any financial burden on the parents of the students.
